Take a look at our practices and see how we can serve you better.
What is the Palmetto Health Physician Practices network?
The network consists of healthcare professionals employed by Palmetto Health. Not only are Palmetto Health physician practices held to the highest possible quality standards, they also are committed to providing patients the best customer service.
Our team of physicians, nurses and staff wants to get to know you and answer any questions you have. Prevention is a big part of your overall care plan. But if you need additional, focused medical treatment, your doctor will refer you to a specialist and stay involved in your care.
What is a Primary Care Physician?
Primary Care Physicians manage and coordinate your medical care. Primary physicians can be either Family Practice physicians or Internal Medicine physicians. Family practice physicians treat children, teens and adults. They are trained to treat the whole person, physically and emotionally. Internists treat adults and adolescents, focusing on both common and complex illnesses. Internists help coordinate care for their patients when other medical specialists, such as surgeons, are involved.
What is an OB/GYN?
An obstetrician/gynecologist is a physician who specializes in care for women of all ages. OB/GYNs provide annual gynecologic exams, birth control management, hormone therapy options, urinary incontinence treatment, obstetrical services including prenatal care and delivery for pregnant patients, and surgical services including hysterectomies. OB/GYNs treat adolescents through older adults.
What is a Specialist?
A specialist is a physician who completes medical school, then goes on to continue his or her medical education in a specific area of medicine by completing a multiple year residency. Your primary care physician will help you choose a specialist who's right for you within our extensive Palmetto Health network.
What is a Walk-In Practice?
A walk-in practice provides convenient care to all of our patients with immediate but not life-threatening illnesses or injuries. We offer extended office hours and the chance to be seen without having an appointment. We are happy to treat your needs and can refer you to a primary care physician for your ongoing medical needs.
What Insurance Do You Accept?
We accept most commercial insurance. Our practices can answer specific questions when you call to schedule an appointment. It is your responsibility to fully understand your coverage benefits and to verify that we are listed as approved providers prior to scheduling an appointment with us.
What if I Can't Find the Doctor I'm Looking For?
Use our Find a Physician tool to find a doctor who is right for you. It includes a wide variety of specialists who are active physicians on Palmetto Health's medical staff, employed and non-employed.
